  • It had been raining all day and there was very little incentive of going up but anyway we spent a good four hours on the slopes of Atemayama. All for a sudden this beautiful view of the valley of Yuzawa appeared on the way back down. Soft mist appearing creeping up from the valley before the mountains in the far ground. Dark trees with their naked branches making a stark contrast before the white landscape. A few fellow skiers make their way down on the slope resembling the miniature persons on the prints of Hiroshige. For three days in a row I had left my full frame camera in the hotel room; due to the miserable weather conditions and I was not expecting to get any chance for a good picture. How wrong I was and how lucky to have my iPhone on me!
