Finally, I managed to escape from the summer heat of Tokyo for some time. I flew to Hokkaido the northern part of Japan - more precisely to Hakodate. An interesting place historically as it was the first Japanese port to be opened to the outside world in 1854. Geographically it is a naturally perfect harbor which predesignated it in its role of communication place with the world. From the top of mount Hakodate at 334 meters there are fantastic day and nighttime views, some comparing it to Hongkong without the skyscrapers. But there is more like the steep roads up the mountain that which in turn remind a bit of San Francisco. There is also a tramway, but I am actually standing on the track… I set up my camera for a soso shot and then the lady on the bicycle drove by... :-)
