Kawagoe 川越市
Also referred to as "Little Edo 小江戸" this town preserves some old parts and housed of that period. Located in Saitama prefecture it takes about 60 minutes by train to reach from Tokyo. Most prominent it "The Bell of Time 時の鐘" a clock tower of 16 meters that is still announcing the time four times a day. A must trip for buffs of old Japan and historical town architecture. I arrived late in the day (2011-08) and under equipped so I will return to take better photos some day (done in 2013-09 and again 2022-05).
