  2. Mount Tskuba 筑波山

Hiking on Tskuba san

"Mt. Fuji in the west and Mt. Tsukuba in the east" quoting an old saying. Mount Tsukuba 筑波山 consists of two peaks Nyotai san 女体山 877 m and Nantai san 男体山 871 m. A mountain of solid granite it is very different from Mt. Fuji and many other mountains I climbed. Supposedly there is a spectacular view over the Kanto plan, Tokyo and Mount Fuji. We were not so lucky as the hot summer weather produces mist and the view was quite limited. More on Mt. Tsukuba here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mount_Tsukuba and here: http://www.greenshinto.com/wp/2012/11/06/tsukubas-twin-peaks/
