December 31st, 2010 in the mount Aso range in Kumamoto-ken, Japan. In the distance the peak of the mount Nakadake the current active volcano. It lies in the center of a huge caldera of 18 x 25 km, the largest one on earth. That was an active volcano from some 300,000 to 90,000 yes ago. The panorama is stitched with Hugin from 5 handheld portrait shots taken at 24mm. I took them at ISO 100 f11 using the EF24-125 and the original Canon 5D. This is the version of 2019.
