Progress after 4 months!
During my first visit to Ishinomaki in early April 2011 I wondered sometimes what it must have been looking before the disaster.
My second visit in August 2011 provided me with the answer in some places and to some extent. In short 4 months many places were cleaned up and found a new beauty. The abundant vegetation of summer also helped to this impression and many persons I met seemed to have found a normality again. The pretty bakery that had survived in the middle of the chaos was open again and I could enjoy a nice pastry there.
To be correct other places have unfortunately made little or no progress and perhaps will never be rebuilt but this should not spoil the pleasure of presenting some heartwarming cases of before and after.
Please enjoy!
